Hi everyone I know it s been a while Please forgive my absence and thank you for all staying in touch with me through super sweet messages Once summer started my life got a little crazy with moving and other projects but I am sooo back with crafting and gardening Check out these sunflowers from my garden They are pretty big almost bigger than my head I had to trim some to make a bouquet but left the rest to go to seed to feed the birds - I think they enjoy fresh sunflower seeds than most store bought bird food I also planted sunflowers to help collect heavy metals from the dirt post LA fires Sunflowers are known to accumulate heavy metals from the soil They are considered hyperaccumulators meaning they can absorb and store significant amounts of certain heavy metals in their tissues including lead cadmium chromium and zinc This ability makes them useful in phytoremediation a process where plants are used to clean up contaminated soil or water nbsp Shoutout to mother nature
