Behind the scenes taking pics of my painting Ground State Icarus 2023 Artist Statement Thinking of ground state as a place of peace calm neutrality nbsp I think we can often think of happiness as a state of elevation but sometimes those joyous feelings carry a tinge of anxiety Excited exhilarated these sensations lift us off the ground They pull us from our center oscillating up and down in cycles of depression and elevation But what is there when we are in the middle when we are at peace nbsp How do you cultivate your ground state How do you recognize it Madness and mania nbsp Euphoria turns downward on the turn of a coin just as fast as it goes up On the very crux high point peak of euphoria starts the nosedive down
