As some of you know for the past couple of years I ve lived with my mother as her full-time caregiver She had surgery for an abdominal aneurysm and required my assistance during her recovery Then the pandemic happened and we were very grateful to be living together and that I was able to work from home and still support her while we were under stay-at-home orders Then last fall she was diagnosed with breast cancer and later lung and bone cancer too and we were extra grateful she didn t have to navigate all the tests treatments and recovery on her own I feel very lucky to be there for her especially given how many people are separated from their parents during this difficult time Still caregiving does take a toll and every now and then I need some respite I was so happy when a long-time fan and subscriber paid for a night away at a hotel for me That was way back in November and because of Ontario s two lockdowns and the demands on my time I was only able to get away this May Finally Here is a little overview of my time ALL BY MYSELF for the first time in many months as I read in the king-sized bed in front of the fireplace and did a little pampering courtesy of some sample face masks I got at Christmas If sponsoring little and not-so-little treats for me interests you let me know It could be 5 for a coffee 20 for a Sephora mini product 50 for a manicure 100 for a massage or 200 for a hotel stay As always I will thank you personally Seska xoxo
