We spontaneously decided to leave Bali in about a month and realized that we had seen very little because we thought we would be here for a long time and still have time to go everywhere Therefore there are plans to still have time to go to the neighboring island This volcano is also on a neighboring island so the journey began at night we drove for 4 hours then a ferry another trip by car and at 4 o clock in the morning began to rise I couldn t believe that even at the foot of the volcano it could be so cold that I was freezing in a hoodie and a jacket although I went out in a T-shirt the height is almost 2800m to put it mildly it was hard to climb even despite my previous experience of 5-day trekking in the mountains with a huge backpack But it was definitely worth it by dawn we were up and it was better than expected Probably the best view I ve seen so far The lake in the crater releases toxic steam sulfur is also extracted from there and there are beautiful mountains around it We were very lucky with the weather we could see all the beauty around So far this is the highest point I ve been to This ascent only reinforced my love for the mountains I wanted to visit higher mountains and hopefully one day get to the top of Jomolungma Swipe to enjoy the beauty of nature with me
